Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey, A Faith in Action Program, received a generous grant from The Provident Bank Foundation headquartered in Morristown, NJ. The grant will support the nonprofit’s agencies effort to assist the elderly, Veterans, disabled and caregivers living in Ocean County, NJ.
Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ) has been providing their free supportive services to the homebound since 1993. Ocean County is home to 92 adult communities and over 160,000 individuals over the age of 60. The need for home-based, volunteer support is growing along with the need for respite for Caregivers.
CVCJ relies on volunteers to provide services and currently utilizes over 1000 dedicated individuals in a number of assignments. All volunteers complete orientation, undergo criminal background checks and driver history abstracts and are provided supplemental insurance.
According to Lynette Whiteman, Executive Director “We are so grateful to The Provident Bank Foundation for their support of our community’s elderly residents and their caregivers. It is the hope of most people to age in the comfort of their own homes, and financial support allows us to continue our mission of care.”
