Respite Care
Helping you take time for yourself when caring for a loved one with chronic illness or dementia
Caring for a loved one with a chronic illness is one of the most selfless things we can do for another human being. But as we all know, it can also be exhausting.
Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey’s respite volunteers offer a few hours of relief to ease the responsibilities of those caring for family. The family caregivers who receive this service tell us there are no words to describe how thankful and grateful they feel. Our respite volunteers give them time to take care of their own needs which improves their mental and physical health.
By training and matching volunteers who provide relief in the form of socialization, education and emotional support, family caregivers get the break they need.
Caregiver Respite is also a valuable community-wide resource for education and information about dementia.
Bilingual volunteers are available.
