Celebrating the Strengths & Contributions of Older Americans

Every May, communities across the nation observe Older Americans Month as a way of honoring the gifts, talents, and contributions of older Americans in our communities. Older adults have built resilience and strength over their lives through successes, failures, joys, and difficulties. Their stories and contributions help to support and inspire others.

This OAM, the theme is “Communities of Strength.” Strength is built and shown not only by bold acts, but also small ones of day-to-day life—a conversation shared with a friend, working in the garden, trying a new recipe, or taking time for a cup of tea on a busy day. And when we share these activities with others—even virtually or by telling about the experience later—we help them build resilience too. Who can relate to acts of strengths better than our Care Receivers and Caregiver Volunteers?

When people of different ages, backgrounds, abilities, and talents share experiences—through action, story, or service—we help build strong communities. And that’s something to celebrate! Please join Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey in strengthening our community – make a donation below, become a caregiver volunteer, or spread the word about our mission on your social media channels!
