Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ) is an interfaith nonprofit agency. Our volunteers number over 1,000. These dedicated individuals come from all walks of life to partner with us to make life better for the vulnerable in our community.
Our mission is to provide vital assistance to the elderly, elderly disabled, veterans, and those who care for them. Our goal is to enable individuals to remain independent and to allow them to live with dignity and joy.
We Help Those…
- 60 years of age or older, or a family caregiver
- No longer driving
- Living in Northern Ocean and Southern Monmouth County
CVCJ provides service to many municipalities throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties. All volunteers attend an orientation class and undergo a criminal background check before they are matched to provide a service.
CVCJ offers solutions to the home bound elderly, which allows them to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. We are funded through grants and donations from the families we assist and our generous community.
Currently there are over 1,200 volunteers assisting over 2,000 senior citizens in Ocean and Monmouth County. These dedicated and giving volunteers are recruited from over 60 local congregations from all faiths that make up our Coalition; residents of Adult Retirement Communities and during educational presentations throughout the communities we serve.
Ocean County ranks number one in the state with the highest percentage of population in the sixty plus age category. CVCJ provides a safety net and a connection to the outside world for those seniors we serve.
