Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ) is an interfaith nonprofit agency. Our volunteers number over 1,000. These dedicated individuals come from all walks of life to partner with us to make life better for the vulnerable in our community.
Our mission is to provide vital assistance to the elderly, disabled, veterans, and those who care for them. Our goal is to enable individuals to remain independent and to allow them to live with dignity and joy.
CVCJ provides service to 23 municipalities within Ocean County. Currently there are 2 full time and 13 part-time staff members who train and manage these volunteers.
CVCJ offers solutions to the home bound elderly, which allows them to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. We are funded through grants and donations from the families we assist and our generous community.
Currently there are over 1,200 volunteers assisting over 2,500 senior citizens in Ocean County. These volunteers are recruited from 0ver 60 local congregations that make up our Coalition; residents of Adult Retirement Communities and during educational presentations.
Ocean County ranks number one in the state with the highest percentage of population in the sixty plus age category. CVCJ provides a safety net and a connection to the outside world for those seniors we serve.
