Caring for People by People Who Care

Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ) is an interfaith nonprofit agency dedicated to providing free supportive services to the elderly, the disabled and their Caregivers, enabling them to live independently and with dignity in their own homes.

In order to be eligible for our program, an applicant must be over the age of 60 and cannot drive.

CVCJ provides service to 23 municipalities within Ocean County.  Currently there are 3 full time and 13 part-time staff members who train and manage these volunteers.

CVCJ offers solutions to the home bound elderly, which allows them to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible.  All our services are completely free of charge.

Currently there are over 1,200 volunteers assisting over 2,500 senior citizens each month in Ocean County.  These volunteers are recruited from 0ver 60 local congregations that make up our Coalition; residents of Adult Retirement Communities and through press releases, our web site and during educational presentations.

Ocean County ranks number one in the state with the highest percentage of population in the sixty plus age category.  CVCJ provides a safety net and a connection to the outside world for those seniors we serve.

How Can We Help You?

Our first goal is to help the elderly remain independent in their own home.  We have a variety of services such as Medical Transportation, Grocery Shopping, and Friendly Visits which help seniors reach that goal.

Our second goal is to help provide support for the elderly’s caregivers.  Our supportive programs include Respite Care and Alzheimer’s & Dementia Respite Care.

While those are just a few of the ways CVCJ can help, we invite you to review all of our services to see exactly how CVCJ can assist you and your family.
